Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Retro Notebook - Diary, Notes mobile application ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. The Service

The App is a note-taking and diary application. Core features — writing notes, checklists, tags, images, voice notes, local backup, password/fingerprint app lock — are free to use. Some features are offered as part of an optional paid subscription ("Premium", see Section 5), and the free version displays advertising (see Section 7).

3. Accounts & Cloud Sync

You do not need an account to use the App. Creating an account (by signing in with your Google account) is optional and enables cloud synchronization of your notes across devices, which is a Premium feature. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google account you sign in with. You may delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from within the App (see Section 9).

4. Your Content

Your notes, photos, voice recordings, and any other content you create in the App belong to you. The developer claims no ownership over your content. When you enable cloud sync, you grant the developer the limited technical right to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the synchronization service. Your content is never sold, and it is never used for advertising.

You agree not to use the App to store or share content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction.

5. Premium Plans, Billing & Cancellation

Premium unlocks the following benefits: multi-device cloud sync, per-note lock, unlimited document scanning (OCR), up to 10 photos per note, and an ad-free experience.

• All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. The developer never receives or stores your payment details.
• Prices are shown in the App and on Google Play before purchase and may vary by country.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime via Google Play → Payments & subscriptions; you keep Premium until the period ends.
• Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies.
• If a subscription lapses, Premium features are disabled but your notes are never deleted.

6. Free-Tier Limits

To keep the free service sustainable, the free version has the following limits: up to 2 photos per note, 3 document scans (OCR) per month, and a total of 500 notes per device (the note cap applies to all users). These limits may be adjusted in future versions.

7. Advertising

The free version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob. Purchasing any Premium plan removes all advertising. How ads process your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App except where permitted by law; interfere with or disrupt the cloud sync service; use the service to infringe the rights of others; or resell or redistribute the App or Premium entitlements.

9. Termination & Account Deletion

You may stop using the App at any time. Uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data. If you created an account, you can delete it in the App (Settings → Cloud Sync → Delete Account); this permanently removes your cloud-stored notes, attachments, and your sign-in identity. You can also request account deletion through our Account Deletion page. 10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While the developer works to keep your data safe (local backups, cloud sync), you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important content. The developer does not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the App.

12. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App's release notes or on its Google Play listing. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
